Timna Park is actually a valley (the Valley of Timna), surrounded by steep mountains. The special Geology of the valley makes Timna Park unique for its rock formations, of which the Mushroom, Solomon's Pillars and Arch are specifically noted.

Visiting the Timna Park

The Timna Park has a large artificial lake in which small boats are available. Also in the park: several ancient copper mines (copper mining started 6000 years ago by the Egyptians), ancient wall paintings, a visitor center with an interesting audio-visual presentation about the park, and more.

The route

The tour of the park takes you along specially built roads that were paved for the comfort of the visitors, with stops to walk around and take in the amazing scenery.

Getting There

Timna Park is about 25 km north of Eilat. For people coming from the North it's a right turn towards the park and towards Kibbutz Elifaz.
